Yesterday this pet bird was flitting around the corner of 6th Avenue and 44th Street. It was pretty clear that it was tame, but it wouldn't use my hand or arm as a perch. I looked up at the three coop buildings where the bird was flying around, but I didn't see any open windows.
It's a lovely bird. White with a bright blue spot on its back; you can see the blue when the bird takes off. Hopefully the owner(s) found it before the pigeon-killing hawk seen in Sunset Park spotted it.
