Two-Fer Sale in Sunset Park
The Brooklyn Eagle reports that two residential buildings were sold as a $2.5 million package recently. They are on 39th between 5th and 6th Avenues, and on 7th Avenue between 42nd and 43rd Streets. And it was an all cash deal. Is someone thinking of more condos? Perhaps the 7th Avenue address would work out, since it's across from the park. But the 39th Street address could have some trouble. Hopefully, either way, the new owner will do right by the neighborhood and its residents.

And the follow up questions:
Where did all this cash come from?
Names of people with all that cash?
WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THE RENT STABILIZED TENANTS IN THESE 2 BUILDINGS?
Excellent questions. Judging from the deal (as is condition, all cash), it seems like the former owner was happy to get rid of the buildings. While $2.5 million is an insane amount of money to me, it's actually a great bargain for 36 residential units.
The 7th Avenue building is next to the former SRO that's still for sale on the corner. That building is unoccupied (at least officially), and it's a mess.
As I wrote in the post, hopefully the new owner will do right by the neighborhood and the residents.
