What You See in Sunset Park: Happy Stoop

This stoop looks so happy with the potted flowers blooming. I suppose I could do this on my stoop as well. My former downstairs neighbors had a potted plant on the stoop for a while (despite the lease stating that was a no-no), and it was quite pleasant. Then the plant died, and then they moved away. I don't think it was related.

Maybe I'll invest in some happy potted flowers. I'll start taking bets as to how long it will take for my toddler to destroy them.

I vote for stoop flowers! It doesn't have to be a huge project. Get something you like -- worst case scenario, it dies.

AND, a lot of the time, stoop flowers like it when the flowers get picked -- then they make more flowers. So you just need to find one of those varieties for your toddler.

I love stoop flowers. In fact, I see this particular display every day. We only have a few window pots outside our house, but the best part was watching a little boy, maybe 3 years old, giggle as he picked them.
