It's missing its human as well as its leaves. This sad potted plant was in the middle of the sidewalk at 55th and 7th. It looks so forlorn...or perhaps shorn. I hope someone took it home eventually.

the bowl is certainly worth "recycling" but i would be wary of bringing this "plant" into my home - might have something in the soil that killed the plant and could spread to your plants....
almost like taking a mattress off the street & waking up to bedbugs.

I saw that plant! Actually, there were two when I walked by so maybe one found it's owners and this one will too..? Let us hope.
