Metropolis Writer's Thoughts About Infrastructure
Karrie Jacobs blogged about her latest Metropolis column, and she used two photos of Sunset Park's piece of the Gowanus Expressway to illustrate her words. Her argument seems to be re-cycle and re-use instead of re-do. The empty space UNDER the Gowanus could be used for something else. But who wants to hang out under the Gowanus? Have you seen what drips down from there? Her photo of what's under the Gowanus looks a heck of a lot cleaner and more usable than the metered parking that's under most of it now. Still, if something could be done to make it more habitable, it would begin to repair the gash that separates SP from the water.
